Abstract
This paper reports an attempt to develop a comprehensive instrument for the analysis and quantitative measurement of organizational characteristics within elementary and secondary schools. The Structural Properties Questionnaire (SPQ) has under gone a series of factor solutions as a heuristic approach in applying the Axiomatic Theory of Hage to the measurement of school structure. Both elementary and secondary factor profiles are reported with concomitant research findings drawn from empirical analysis of these data. L. K.
