Abstract
The diurnal rhythm in the adrenal secretion, the plasma levels, and the rate of disappearance of corticosterone (11[beta],21-dihydroxy-pregn-4-ene-3,20-dione) from plasma has been studied in rats 7 and 30 days after optic enucleation. Some important differences have been observed as compared with normal animals. The influence of the photoperiod on the hypophyseal-adrenal axis, on the steroid blood levels, and on the hormone metabolism is discussed. Keywords
