Abstract
The 9th reported case of intracranial neurilemmoma of the 12th cranial nerve is presented. This is the first report of this lesion in an Oriental and the 1st documented pre-operatively by myelography. Diagnosticfeatures are considered and their variability is noted; they are reminiscent of the symptoms and signs accompanying benign tumors of the foramen magnum. An apparent sine qua non for this lesion is hypoglossal palsy with atrophy and fibrillations of the tongue on the involved side. Although reported only 3 times to date, an increased CSF [cerebral spinal fluid] protein is nearly always present, as in cases of benign tumors of the foramen magnum and acoustic neurilemmomas. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
