Neutrons from Deuteron Breakup onHe3

Neutron spectra produced by bombarding ${\mathrm{He}}^3$ with deuterons have been measured for bombarding energies from 7 to 12 MeV and neutron emission angles from 0 to 70 deg. The observed spectra exhibit no structure attributable to a state in ${\mathrm{Li}}^4$. An upper limit for the cross section for forming such a state is deduced.
