Abstract
In the section of the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature dealing with the gender of generic names it is recommended [Rec. 75 A (2)] that modern compounds in—panax should be masculine. As Panax and its compounds have been treated as neuter in New Zealand wc recently asked Dr W. T. Stearn, British Museum (Natural History) for guidance. Keywords
