Abstract
The title reactions involve parallel and consecutive one-electron oxidations giving I, I2- and SCN, (SCN)2- as radical intermediates. In most cases the rates of the individual steps can be well predicted using linear free-energy relationships. The necessary reduction-potentials of the non-metal couples are derived from kinetic data for complexes of very different charge and ligand type. Keywords
