Abstract
The effects of genetic and environmental factors (maternal age, relative hatching time and density) and their interactions on the growth rate of carp fry were evaluated. It was confirmed that relative size of fry immediately after hatching is a major determinant of further growth rate, but that the cause of the initial advantage (hereditary or environmental) is of little importance. A theoretical model was developed to express the quantitative relationships between the interacting genetic and environmental factors.This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
