Abstract
A report is made of a study of streptococcal infections in the Naval Training Station. 73 men during the period of the study developed no illness, even though as many as 5 types of streptococci of known pathogenicity were recovered from their throats. Dick reaction apparently played no role in this resistance, since the amt. of illness among Dick-negative men was proportionately the same as among those Dick-positive. Some individuals resisted infection with one type of streptococcus but became ill when seeded with another type. Several persons developed 2 illnesses due to 2 different types of streptococci, while no person became ill twice from the same type of organism. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
