Abstract
Recent observations of radiation-stimulated superconductivity above the thermodynamic transition temperature reveal the existence of a first-order phase transition between a normal and a superconducting state. In this Letter, a Langevin equation for the order parameter is derived, which is appropriate for the nonequilibrium steady-state process under consideration, and which explains the observed discontinuous phase transition. Keywords
