Abstract
Results from controlled inoculation experiments show that conifers of six genera (Abies, Larix, Picea, Pinus, Psendotsuga, and Tsuga) are susceptible to the poplar (Populus) rusts of western Canada. Twenty-one new host records are established. It is suggested that Melampsora albertensis Arth. be reduced to synonymy with M. medusae Thüm., because they appear to be indistinguishable from each other in morphology, life history, host range, and host reaction. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
