Abstract
Tumors of the testis occur rarely in infants. In 1956, Magner et al1 described an adenocarcinoma which they considered peculiar to the infantile testis. In 1960, Teoh et al2 agreed that this testicular neoplasm was distinctive of infancy and suggested the term orchioblastoma. Forty-four cases2-8 fulfilling the histologic criteria of adenocarcinoma of the infantile testis have been reported in the literature. The purposes of this article are to review the literature and report a case of this neoplasm and to offer evidence why it should not be considered specific to infancy. Review of the Literature The age of the patient when this testicular tumor was first discovered was available in 41 instances. A total of 39 of the patients were age 24 months or younger, including one neonate, and 29 of these were distributed more or less equally among the age group of 2 to 15 months. Keywords
