Abstract
Four different methods of staining arthropod eggs within plant tissue were evaluated for their ability to stain the eggs of Liriomyza trifolii (Burgess) within chrysanthemum, celery, and tomato leaves. The only successful technique involved a modification of existing methodology which utilizes a lactophenol-acid fuchsin solution. A drawback to this technique is the high cost of materials, particularly if large numbers of samples need to be processed.
