Abstract
The Miller's nonlinear coefficients were calculated using experimental values of the electro-optical coefficients and the refractive index at various light wavelengths in lead magnoniobate crystals. A noticeable dispersion of these coefficients is observed. The resemblance of the dispersion parameters of DiDomenico's and Wemple's model in lead magnoniobate and other oxygen octahedral ferroelectrics is shown. The low value of polarization potential observed possibly is due to influence of the lead sublattice and the orientation polarization. The infrared absorption and Raman scattering spectra are investigated. A wide nonresonant band is discovered. Some specific optical and electro-optical properties are discussed in connection with the diffuseness of the ferroelectric phase transition in the crystal under investigationKeywords
