Abstract
Rats were subjected to a form of stress which involved a sense of urgency and apprehension by periodically and alternately charging half of the floor of a specially constructed cage, forcing migration to the uncharged areas. Three groups of experimental rats were placed in the cage for 1, 3 and 6 hours, respectively. At the end of the stress period the clotting time of the experimental rats was taken, and compared to controls. It was found that in addition to marked behavioral differences, the stressed rats exhibited significant hastening of blood coagulation. Keywords
