Chemical and Biological Analysis of Diazinon on Apples and Grapes1

Abstract
Samples of treated apples and grapes were analyzed by chemical and biological methods to determine the rates of disappearance and harvest residues of Diazinon® (O,O-diethyl O-(2-isopropyl-4-methyl-6-pyrimidinyl) phosphorothioate). The chemical disappeared rapidly from the fruit during the first week after application of sprays. After 1 week and until harvest Diazinon declined gradually with no more than 0.2 p.p.m. toxicant being found in the last sample.
