Suicidal behavior in adolescence

Abstract
Suicidal behavior during adolescence continues to reflect more sophisticated and more longitudinal investigations. Psychiatric and psychosocial characteristics of adolescents who attempt and complete suicide have been delineated and validated. Outcomes for previously suicidal adolescents have also been investigated. Although continuing efforts have been made to develop better methods of prediction of suicide risk, the areas of treatment and prevention of suicidal behavior remain relatively undeveloped
