CHILD-RESISTANT CONTAINERS: AN APPRAISAL IN ARTHRITIC PATIENTS

Abstract
We report the ability of 136 patients with rheumatic complaints, of whom 115 had hand involvement, to open three different types of container. Blister packs and ordinary screw tin packs were found to be more easily opened than child-proof screw packs—which could not be opened by 78 patients. Better design of child-resistant containers is felt to be necessary.
