Abstract
Organic materials, especially with fibre reinforcement, are of increasing importance for HV outdoor application. Since polymers normally are more sensitive against weathering than porcelain, it is important to test the withstand capability of such materials and to evaluate their resistivity. Special attention must be paid to the phenomena of erosion and water absorption. Test pro cedures and results are reported. It can be demonstrated that water repellent materials exhibit superior properties. Keywords
