Abstract
Radioiodine uptake studies performed on 10 patients treated for hyperthyroidism 8 weeks before with radioiodine showed a blocking of organic binding of trapped iodide. An avg. of 54.1% of the iodide trapped by the thyroid under these circumstances was discharged from the gland following the oral admn. of thiocyanate while 20 control cases discharged only an avg. of 3.4%.Keywords
