Abstract
The properties of plasmon resonances in metal clusters are computed within the random phase approximation (RPA), starting from the Kohn‐Sham ground state within the jellium model. The paper aims at a systematic survey of the general trends with varying parameters such as electron number, angular momentum, Wigner‐Seitz radius etc. To this end we exploit the flexibility of a particular RPA scheme which allows to switch easily between different levels of approximation. Keywords
