Abstract
Debate about playing surfaces is taking an impassioned turn: Baseball and football players charge that artificial turf produces more sore muscles and injuries—and more missed practices. Although researchers have yet to determine if these accusations are fair, some institutions are returning to the real thing. In the meantime, better-designed shoes may even the playing fields.Keywords
