Abstract
We examined the temperature dependence of the magnetic field penetration depth λ of La1.85Sr0.15CuO4 through variations of the ac susceptibility. The temperature dependence of λ cannot be understood by the conventional BCS theory. The analysis of the data indicates that the T 2 dependence of λ(T)-λ(0) is plausible at lower temperatures. This gives evidence of point nodes in the energy gap on the Fermi surface in this compound. Keywords
