Abstract
Influenza is a highly morbid illness affecting 10% to 20% of the US population and accounting for 110,000 hospitalizations and 10,000 to 40,000 deaths yearly.1- 3 In addition to the burden of illness during the influenza season, there is also the risk of more severe influenza pandemics. In this article, we summarize some of the advances that will affect the management of patients who are either at risk of influenza or present with clinical disease. Keywords
