Abstract
Adrenal ascorbic acid concn. of 144 [plus or minus] 5 mg. % was established as the mean normal value for growing female guinea pigs used in these expts. One day and 33 days on scorbutogenic diets reduced adrenal ascorbic acid to 90 mg. % and 7.6 mg. %, respectively. Ascorbic acid deficiency was associated with an increase in adrenal wt., the latter increasing faster than body wt. Estrogen enhanced the relative adrenal wt. and decreased ascorbic acid. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
