Abstract
For the manufacture of film tablets a variety of polymers with different properties are used in organic and aqueous systems. In the present review, the most important film-forming agents and application systems are discussed with regard to their chemical qualities and physical formulation properties. Furthermore, general phenomena and differences among these agents are illuminated by means of models from macromolecular chemistry. Keywords
