Abstract
Treatment of the ruthenium(IV) chloro-bridged dimer [{Ru(η3 : η3-C10H16)Cl(µ-Cl)}2]1 with silver thiocyanate in acetone–water gives the thiocyanato S,N-bridged dimer [{Ru(η3 : η3-C10H16)Cl(µ-SCN)}2]2 which exists as two diastereomeric forms respectively of Ci2a and C22b symmetry. The X-ray crystal structure of 2b shows the molecule to contain an unusually puckered eight-membered ‘Ru2(SCN)2’ ring. Keywords
