Abstract

The electronic structure of the paramagnetic molecule (C₅H₅)₃Ni₃(CO)₂ is investigated, and the odd electron is assigned to an A ₂″ combination of nickel d orbitals. The g values of the molecule are calculated on this hypothesis and are found to be consistent with the experimental values.
