A One-Dimensional Time-Dependent Model for Flame Initiation, Propagation and Quenching

Abstract
This report describes a one-dimensional, time-dependent, Lagrangian numerical model developed to study the initiation, propagation and quenching of laminar flames. A number of new approaches and algorithms as well as input parameters used in the model are discussed. Calculations of initiation and minimum ignition energies in hydrogen-oxygen-nitrogen mixtures are presented along with calculations of the burning velocity of hydrogen in air.
