Physical Activity and Ageing – a Survey of Soviet Literature

Abstract
Recent Soviet gerontological literature (in Russian) is surveyed and some observations on the effects of different types of exercise are presented. Beneficial results of physical activity programmes for the elderly are discussed. The design of group sessions and of physical exercises at work is presented. Possibilities of training are surveyed and illustrated by the results of a longitudinal study.
