Abstract
Serum total thyroxine (T4) estimations have been performed for 180 children, for 131 of whom the triiodothyronine‐resin uptake (T3 resin) was also estimated. In children aged under 12 years, the serum T4 value was frequently higher than normal adult values, and the T4 resin slightly lower. Appropriate ranges of normality have, therefore, been calculated. These values appear to be the result of a higher thyroxine‐binding globulin capacity in these children than in adults. Keywords
