Abstract
An attempt to find a phenomenological nucleon-nucleon potential is described. The class of charge and velocity independent potentials with central and tensor parts of Yukawa shape with a hard core is considered. The depths, ranges, and core radii of such potentials with general spin and parity dependence are adjusted to fit experimental data. No potential of this type is found which fits all of the data. Keywords
