Abstract
Clinical literature on desensitization treatment of agoraphobia is reviewed. The popular belief that in vivo desensitization is generally superior to imaginal exposure is critically examined. Studies which do not support this belief are reviewed, and the implications for clinical practice are considered. Keywords
