Abstract
The beam-gas Hanle technique has been used to determine the magnetic dipole interaction constant A, the electric quadrupole constant B and the radiative lifetime tau for the 2p2P3/2 level in B III. They have been found to be A=(46.0+or-1.5), B=(4.5+or-3.0) MHz, and tau =(6.5+or-1.3) ns. These data are in good agreement with recent many-body calculations of the hyperfine structure of the 2p2P3/2 levels in the Li I isoelectronic sequence. Keywords
