Abstract
A case of cervical intramedullary schwannoma without evidence of von Recklinghausen's disease is reported. The hypotheses regarding its histogenesis and the difficulty in diagnosis on the frozen section obtained at biopsy are discussed, along with a review of literature covering 15 previously reported cases. Keywords
