Abstract
I imagine that there are few paediatric nurses who would deny that children need their parents with them when they are in hospital. Over time, visiting restrictions have been lilted (1) and parents are increasingly involved in the care of their children (2). Several studies have addressed parental involvement from the perception of both the nursing staff and the parents (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) and there is an expanding body of literature which talks about ‘sharing the caring’ (8) and partnership with parents’ (9, 10)Keywords
