Studies of Australian soft corals. I. A new cembrenoid diterpene from a Sarcophyton species

Abstract
A new cembrenoid diterpene is reported from a Sarcophyton sp. of soft coral. It is a dehydro derivative of the reported compound epoxynephthenol (3; R = H) which was isolated from a Nephthea sp.1 Its structure was deduced from spectroscopic evidence and confirmed by X- ray crystallography.
