Abstract
In this study, we demonstrated that the putativeVibrio fischeri rpoNgene, which encodes σ54, controls flagellar biogenesis, biofilm development, and bioluminescence. We also show thatrpoNplays a requisite role initiating the symbiotic association ofV. fischeriwith juveniles of the squidEuprymna scolopes.Keywords
