Abstract
This paper assesses the effects of R&D on trade by constructing an econometric model of exports and imports and estimating it with data for 15 industries in the G5 economies over 13 years. The results suggest that the stock of R&D capital, relative to competitor countries, is an important determinant of industrial trade performance. Keywords
