Abstract
Conversion of dc energy to RF pulses has been demonstrated by picosecond optoelectronic switching in silicon. Sequential waveform of two and one half cycles has been generated with voltage conversion efficiency better than 90%. This type of device has the potential of generating megawatt power at frequencies extending into the millimeter-wave region. Keywords
