Abstract
Anatase titanium(IV) oxide synthesized by high-temperature hydrolysis of titanium(IV) tetrabutoxide in toluene was used for photocatalytic mineralization of acetic acid in aerated aqueous solutions, and showed the rate of carbon dioxide production much higher than representative active photocatalysts (Degussa P-25 and Ishihara ST-01). The catalyst of the larger crystallite size showed the higher activity, suggesting the importance of reduction of crystal defects. Keywords
