Abstract
Recent advances in photon-mode image recording media in Japan was reviewed. Three ministries (the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, the Science and Technology Agency, and the Ministry of Education) organized purpose oriented research groups on photoresponsive materials independently and a large part of each research project is more or less relevant to photomemory systems. Outlines of these projects were described and the present state of art was discussed. Keywords
