Free Serratus Anterior Muscle and Myocutaneous Flaps

Abstract
Free serratus anterior muscle and myocutaneous flaps were transferred successfully, based on the subscapularthoracodorsal vessels. The anatomy and elevation procedure for the flaps are described, based on cadaver dissection, together with our clinical experience. The advantage of using these flaps is that a long vascular pedicle is obtainable with negligible motor dysfunction from the muscle removal.
