Abstract
SUMMARY: Cholinesterase activity has been demonstrated histochemically in the nervous system, tegumental and sub-tegumental musculature of the haptor and in the pharyngeal bulb of the oncomiracidium ofPricea multae. The presence of cholinesterase in the nervous system is attributed to neurotransmission and its presence in the tegumental and sub-tegumental musculature of the haptor and pharyngeal bulb is discussed. The nervous system of the oncomiracidium with respect to cholinesterase activity is described and is compared with the nervous system of the oncomiracidium ofProtopolystoma xenopodis. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
