Abstract
The ion-association equilibrium of tetrabutylammonium chloride, bromide, and iodide in the titled solvents has been investigated by solvent extraction at 298 K. In each solvent the association constants have been found to be of similar magnitude among these three salts. This is explained in terms of the larger degree of hydration in the smaller anions. The influence of coextracted water on the equilibrium is discussed. This publication has 10 references indexed in Scilit:
