Abstract
A technique is described which reduces the bandwidth required for holographic data transmission by eliminating vertical parallax. This is accomplished by transmitting only the information in a thin horizontal strip of a conventional hologram. The receiver is required to reproduce many identical copies of this strip hologram, and present them simultaneously in a vertical array for viewing. Horizontal parallax and a panoramic three-dimensional view are preserved. Experimental results of feasibility tests are described. Keywords
