Abstract
Alterations of glycoproteins prepared from the glandular (pyloric) and membranous (rumenal) parts of the stomach wall of rats have been studied polarographically, in comparison with occurance of gastric ulceration and with secretory responses, during gastric ulceration by pyloric ligation. The volume of gastric secretion and the number of ulcer occurance were found to increase in period of 7–24 h after pyloric ligation; meanwhile no increase of HCl secretion was found in that time period. The significant increase of glycoproteins in both parts of the stomach wall was found to be present in period of 0–7 h, and also of 7–24 h, after pyloric fixation. Alterations of glycoproteins are greater and appear sooner after pyloric ligation, but before occurance of gastric ulceration, in the rumenal part of the stomach wall than in the glandular one. The interrelationship was discussed between the ulcer occurance and increase of glycoproteins prepared from glandular and membranous parts of the stomach wall of rats during development of gastric ulceration by pyloric ligation. Keywords
