Abstract
Effects of 3 light regimes on length of life, fecundity, and the possibility of inheritance of eclosion rhythms were studied in 2 races of Trichogramma semifumatum (Perkins), one from the Mesilla Valley, New Mexico, and another from Bishop, California. The light regimes were 10L (light) :14D (dark), 14L:10D and constant light. At 30°C and 80% relative humidity, length of life appeared to increase with the length of the light period. Adult females of the Mesilla Valley race parasitized more eggs of Ephestia kuehniella (Zeller) in increasing light periods. Emergence of the adult wasps was synchronized by light cycles. The parental photoperiod did not determine the emergence pattern of the progeny. Keywords
