Abstract
The immune synapse (IS) is a central event in the development of the adaptive immune response that results in the activation of the T cell. The specific signals that promote termination of the IS are unclear. This study found that, importantly, signaling molecules involved in the formation and function of the IS, e.g. PKCtheta, are also involved in synapse breakdown, constituting a possible mechanism of early remodeling of the IS.
