Resolution Enhancement in Raman Spectroscopy Using Polarization Data

Abstract
Because overlapping Raman bands will, in general, have different depolarization ratios, it is possible to resolve such bands by means of a computer subtraction of the Ivh spectrum, scaled by an appropriate constant, from the Ivv spectrum. Several examples are given which illustrate both the capabilities and the limitations of the technique.
