Abstract
This paper describes output characteristics of a new transformer for an implantable artificial heart. The implantable transformer consists of Co-based amorphous magnetic fiber and conductive fibers. Features include (i) a thin, planar shape and (ii) high flexibility. The trial transformer made can supply electric power of 10 W. Magnetic field distribution around the transformer was measured, and leakage magnetic flux behind it could be reduced. A transformer with spiral woven structure was also discussed. Keywords
